Service Description

Workshop Title: "Psychological Flexibility in Practice: An Introduction to Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)" Workshop Description: This interactive workshop introduces the core principles of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Unlike traditional models that focus on eliminating symptoms, ACT aims to build psychological flexibility—the ability to stay in the present moment and change or persist in behavior when doing so serves valued ends. Participants will learn how to apply ACT techniques to help clients move from "fighting their minds" to living a rich, meaningful life. Whether you are treating clinical depression, coaching for life satisfaction, or managing chronic pain, ACT offers a transdiagnostic model that works. Target Audience: Psychologists, Counselors, Social Workers, Life Coaches, Medical Professionals (Nurses, Doctors, Physiotherapists). Prerequisites: None. Open to all levels. Learning Objectives By the end of this training, participants will be able to: Differentiate between ACT and traditional Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). Identify the six core processes of the ACT "Hexaflex." Utilize at least three experiential exercises to help clients practice acceptance and defusion. Apply values clarification techniques to motivate committed action. Adapt ACT metaphors and tools for use in brief interventions (suitable for medical or coaching settings).
